16 But their eyes were being held-back that they might not[a] recognize Him. 17 And He said to them, “What are these words which you are exchanging with one another while walking?” And they stood [still], sad-faced. 18 And having responded, one— Cleopas by name— said to Him, “Are You alone[b] staying in Jerusalem and did not know the things having taken place in it in these days?”
